Andrew Duncan Hinojosa is an American, Mexican, and Spanish writer—actor based in New York City and Texas. He studied Economics, Anthropology, and Prehealth at New York University. Afterwards, he briefly trained as an actor at a private studio, while working for Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film distribution company located in Brooklyn, NY.
During his time at Oscilloscope Laboratories, Hinojosa worked on campaigns for several films, one of which (Embrace of the Serpent) was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards in 2016. Hinojosa left the company to fully pursue a career as an actor and screenwriter. He has been a freelance writer and performer since.
His writing explores topics of identity, art, technology and culture; Hinojosa often reflects on these things through a comedic lens. He’s often making sense of chaos on Twitter, and reviewing films on Letterboxd. Hinojosa also produces music under the name Siqpillo in his spare time.
